Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Training
Option 1 - Training for Employees
Half Day
DSE Assessment overview for employees will cover the following:
- overview of alternative and ergonomic equipment
- the Regulations
- how to self assess
- the “Buddy” system
- how to stay healthy and solve problems
- examples of good and bad practices
- question and answer session
Option 2 - Training for Managers
Half Day
DSE Assessment overview for managers will cover the following:
- overview of alternative and ergonomic equipment
- the Regulations
- cost benefits
- example procedures and solutions
- the “Buddy” system
- healthy computing practices
- question and answer session
DSE Plus
Option 1 - Training for DSE Assessors
Full Day
DSE Assessment skills training will cover the following:
- the Regulations
- the “Buddy” system
- analysis of healthy computing practices
- how to solve problems
- hands-on trial of equipment
- question and answer session
Option 2 - Training 'On the job' for DSE Assessors
Full Day
The company assessor will job shadow a Greenleafe Ergonomics consultant as s/he carries out DSE assessments. By the end of the day the company assessor will be carrying out assessments, under the guidance of the Greenleafe consultant

Access Technology – meeting the needs of the individual
Half Day
This session will:
- explain what is meant by access technology and why it is needed
- demonstrate how adaptations may be used to overcome barriers
- raise awareness of the experiences of colleagues and clients with disabilities
- provide a hands-on opportunity to try out devices and software solutions
Disability Awareness – raising standards
Half Day
This session will:
- enable delegates to gain an understanding of what disability means
- raise awareness of the experiences of colleagues and clients with disabilities
- examine some of the barriers facing disabled people
- provide an overview of the disability and current legislation
- consider the Public Sector Disability Equality Duty (DED) and other codes of practice
- look at ways in which equal access to facilities and services may be achieved
- promote good practice when working with or for disabled people
- explore how IT may help or hinder
The Equality Act – as it pertains to Disability Discrimination and Reasonable Adjustment
Half Day
This session will provide an overview of the Act and will:
- enable delegates to gain an understanding of what disability means
- raise awareness of the experiences of colleagues and clients with disabilities
- examine some of the barriers facing disabled people
- consider existing codes of practice/policies
- look at ways in which equal access to facilities and services may be achieved
- promote good practice when working with or for disabled people
